Freepoint Commodities has hired a pair of power & gas traders in London and Houston.
The energy merchant merchant has recruited Francois de Nanteuil, formerly a vice president of European power trading at Morgan Stanley, as senior energy trader in London.
It has also hired Ross Sclafani, formerly with EDF Trading and Inertia Power, as an analyst for Freepoint’s gas and power desk in Houston.
De Nanteuil spent close to a decade at Morgan Stanley. He left the bank early this year, as first reported by SparkSpread on Jan. 26.
Sclafani began his career at Lehman Brothers and joined EDF Trading in 2008. He left last year to join Inertia Power.
