Freepoint Commodities has hired an oil products trader in Singapore, who will relocate to London this summer.
The commodities merchant has hired James Clements, a gasoline trader, who previously worked for Glencore in London, Dubai and Singapore.
Clements, who will relocate to London in July, joins Freepoint’s existing gasoline team of Daniel Lappin in London and Farzad Askari and Alejandro Tello in Houston.
“His placement in London, where he will focus on global physical gasoline and inter regional arbitrage, now completes Freepoint’s Atlantic basin gasoline team, as it expands its physical light ends business around the St Croix refinery position, which was acquired earlier this year,” says an official at the firm.
“James will also be a valuable contributor as Freepoint seeks to expand its presence in Singapore,” the official told SparkSpread.
Clements joined Glencore as an analyst in London in 2000. He relocated from Dubai to Singapore in 2012.
