Freepoint Commodities’ employees have extensive experience in trading and operations in their respective markets, which include North American and European Gas and Power, Oil and Oil Products, Emissions, Coal, and metals. We are a counterparty-focused merchant business that caters to the physical supply needs of the market and manages associated price risk.
North American Gas
Our gas team operates at all locations in the US and Canada. In addition, we manage natural gas capacity and storage outright and as part of asset management agreements.

Our power team trades US and Canadian markets. We trade within all of the North American ISO territories and utilize all of the Financial Transmission Rights products available in each territory. We provide asset management services, structured tolling deals with power producers, and load serving products for end users, and other tailored structures that manage risk.

North American Coal
Our North American coal business operates in all major coal basins and export facilities in the US. In addition, we manage blending and storage facilities in connection with asset agreements.
European Gas, Power, Coal & Emissions
Since opening the London office in October 2011, Freepoint has assembled a very strong team of highly experienced traders, originators, structurers and analysts. The London office is primarily responsible for trading all markets for European power and gas and the global markets for emissions and coal. The extensive experience of our employees, coupled with our increasing network of trading relationships, puts us in a strong position to offer our counterparts the full range of commodity trading and energy risk management products.

Freepoint Metals & Concentrates LLC (FMC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Freepoint Commodities LLC. FMC is a leading merchant in the global market for base metals concentrates and copper cathodes. The Business trades solely as a principal and market maker with long-standing relationships with most major global mining companies and smelting customers.
