Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our fast-paced commodities business. In this role, you will be responsible for using technology solutions, Metaviewer, Great Plains, and proprietary systems to complete tasks. The position demands a keen eye for detail, strong analytical abilities, and an aptitude for reviewing invoices in multiple currencies. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates with an interest in Accounting. Additionally, the role offers collaboration with our global financial reporting group, Treasury teams, and employees across the business.
Duties:
• Process global operating expense invoices, in multiple currencies using automated payable solution and ensure invoices are properly approved and paid in a timely fashion
• Assign appropriate ledger coding by using our company's chart of accounts, effectively allocating costs to specific cost centers, projects, and legal entities. Distinguish between costs to be capitalized and expenses.
• Manage payment processing, including the printing of checks, generating ACH batches, and initiating wire payments in both USD and foreign currencies
• Collaborate with the global onboarding team to ensure proper vendor onboarding and accurate maintenance of vendor information.
• Maintain vendor payment instructions and adhere to company callback policy regarding change in payment instructions
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies and respond to all vendor inquiries
• Responsively handle inquiries from both employees and vendors
• Proactively identify potential areas for process improvement
• Provide support for other projects as required
Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Proficient technology skills, including MS Word and Excel, and an ability to learn new platforms well
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective organizational abilities
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities
• Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
• Comfortable working autonomously and in a team environment
