Michael Nahmias

Mr. Nahmias brings 21 years of experience in the energy industry and was one of Freepoint’s first employees.  He began his career with Sempra Energy Trading where he gained experience as both a natural gas scheduler and trader.

He serves as Head of North America Gas and Power. The gas team encompasses a group of traders and schedulers that serve the U.S. and Canadian physical gas markets, as well as derivatives traders focused on Henry Hub and basis hub trading. The power team focuses on U.S. power markets, with an emphasis on PJM, NYISO, NEISO, ERCOT, and West Coast markets.  Mr. Nahmias own trading focuses on financial natural gas as well as optimizing Freepoint’s Canadian and U.S. transportation and storage.

Mr. Nahmias is based at Freepoint’s headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Yeshiva University in 2005.
